8 gauge wire kit to kicker 1000w amp?

i have an 8 gauge kicker amp kit installed in my car and i am looking to upgrade my amp to a kicker zx1000.1 and i was wondering if my 8 gauge wire can handle 1000w or not? thanks guys

if you want to be a big dog, i have 3/0 for sale. its larger than whats above.

3/0 is just a little bit over kill but better to have more than enough that not enough

I used 8 gauge for my amps, then again they're 150w & 100w.

Ill never run 8 gauge it's just not worth it unless you are only running really small amps like stated above hell I ran 1/0 to a distro then 4 gauge to my little Rockford prime 150-2 just because I knew I would upgrade.

Definitely use 4 gauge for right now, 1/0 if you plan on running more power in the future.
