This is my 2nd MS-8 that has tanked in less than a year. The first unit went into protect mode 9 months after install. I contacted JBL who said it is not fixable and they replaced it for free. Now after a few months, my new one went into protect mode. Again jbl said it cant be fixed.

SETUP: OEM Headunit to the ms-8, which goes to a 4 channel amp and mono amp.

THE PROBLEM: I turn the car on, and within 5-30 seconds it goes into protect mode. Per jbl who was quick to say, the issue can't be fixed.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm not familiar with ms-8. but check this-

What is your typical DC voltage your vehicle is seeing while on? Are you running externally regulated?

What OS does the MS-8 run on?
