my speaker are getting fuzzy

hey can any body tell me if when my speakers (2polk 5 1/4 speakers)and(2 polk 6 1/2 speakers)get fuzzy that i need a amp because that what everybody at my school is tell, can any body tell me if this is true

Yes. Only thing is the leads will be encased in resin. Keep in mind that this is an assumption.
