Ok so here it goes.
I have a Kenwood KDC-BT848BU head unit wited to the 4 reg speakers and a MTX Thunder 400w 4 ch amp running to 2 old school Phoenix Gold 8" subs 200w each but 4 ohms. The amp is bridgeable. With the subs being 4 ohms, what are my options? I don't wanna burn out the amp. Although older, it is brand new. Was bought and never used. Do i run them in parallel to a bridged amp? Or just straight wire one sub to one channel? I'll be replacing the subs soon. I just don't know with what tho. Thanks in advance

Very Nice HU by the way. You can always beef up the signal using an external Pre amp EQ up to 5+ Volts on the cheap side and have tuning at your finger tips as well on the fly

Man you're a wealth of info. Thanks again. I'll be around asking more questions im sure.
Sure man.. No problem. I try. I dont know everything though. LOL. Its been a great hobby for me, and I really enjoy car audio. Im always learning. Thats what this site is and should be about.. helping others and learning from each other. You may get some others to chime in as well with theyre experiences and help also. Always question and research if you have doubts and not certain. You are welcome to DM me if you need any help. It may take a day or two to respond back, but ill respond as soon as I can back to you, if I can help

Thanks alot. I appreciate it

To wire 1 SVC4 ohm speaker to the bridged 2 ch @4 ohms pictured here. You will need to know which wires to be used to bridge the two chs. properly .Thats why I ask Model# of the amplifier to look at the specs to verify the wiring as well as the stability of that amp

So i got 2 y splitters. My question now is, do both leads from the white go to the white terminals on amp and red to reds?

Sure, 600 volts, yep. If you’re trying to launch the subwoofer cones to the moon! And, that’s if they don’t just vaporize first!

Is that 1000w max? Don't expect to be able to bridge a 1000w amp at 2 ohms and get 500w x 2ch. I'm pretty sure you can't with that amp, for...
