Suggestions Please.

I'm very much a noob when it come to anything past OEM's and IEM's so, and i know nothing on reliability and quality of brands, Im looking for real suggestions that area as non-bias as possible.

I"ve got a daily driver, with a new head unit. which made me want to upgrade the system a bit. The stock speakers are decent and are good enough for me on the high's and mid's but when i mix in bass, their age is somewhat prevalent.

so im looking to install either 3x8'" subs, or 2x10" subs. i dont want to spend more than around $30-50 on each 8" and $40-70 on the 10"s

I'd prefer them to be 2 ohms for the ease of flow, making for a cheaper amp (or so i've gathered)

Packages are cool too, and i'm wanting to use a sealed enclosure.

any amp suggestions to go along would be cool as well.

I mostly listen to music like Memphis May Fire, or Bury Tomorrow, with alot of emphasis on the drums and the bass harmonies.

Thank you Ahead of time for and response!

EDIT: I drive a Ford Focus Sedan

Edit2: also not planning on blasting the crap out of them, i'm not the type to bother other drivers, at least too much

Edit3: NEW BUDGET, $200-300 total on subs, not including enclosure, or amp, i realize if i want clarity i have to pay for it.

For that vehicle,and @70$ per sub..2-10s? Id run one American XFL DVC 4 ohm 10inch sub@ 2ohm in approx. 1.6-1.8 cuft@ approx. 34 htz.Throw about 800-1100 true rms at it,and watch that car slam,and sound fantastic..Just my 2cents

well, since you're wanting to run sealed, and with your budget, you could do 3 of these 8s Re Audio RFX8 D4 8" 190 Watts Dual 4 Ohm RFX Series Car Subwoofer RFX8D4 Sub 611892991712 | eBay or these Re Audio REX8 4 8 inch 700 Watt Max Power Dual 4 Ohm Subwoofer Rex Series New | eBay

and wire them down to a 2.667 ohm load

or as far as 10s, you could do two of these Re Audio REX10S4 2yr Wrnty 300W 4 Ohm Car Rex Series Audio Stereo Sub Woofer | eBay and wire down to a 2 ohm load

both within your budget and would work sealed

Alright so after doing literally a days worth research into subs and how they work; and to add to my above,

The reason i may enjoy 3x8" is because i dont have much of a taste for blowing out my ear drums. Im not going to be using these super loud. I prefer very clean and crisp music with punchy bass, that being said.

I do however love the feeling of the air moving powerfully around me. Like i'm being struck by a supersonic wave. Its awesome, so thats why im thinking 3x8 would be better for the sheer factor of surface area.

Screw my preconseptions,

Im looking for the cleanest and most powerful between these brands: Rockford Fosgate, MTX, Pioneer.

You guys had been great sof far!

you want air moving better off with 1 15 or 18, since you listen to rock mostly also depending on space you have available, i personally run 2 hdc3 15's and does get air moving, if your budget is $300 look into an obsidian 18, i heard 2 single 18 obsidians set ups this past month at a show i was beyond impressed how defined they sounded, not to mention lound and did it sounding good too

I checked out soundqubed and it looks perfect, i think i'll go with a single HDS310 because Im afraid the amp needed is going to put to much strain on my old alternator. Thank you for the suggestion,

What would be a good follow up amp for this speaker? At 2ohms

I run a Hifonics BRZ1700. It's 1200 watts at 2 ohms and its not too expensive. I got mine used off eBay for 160

If you can find these in your area. Id recommend these for drop ins. They play from 40Htz on up. Sound very nice on amplified power for premium...
